This whipped diaper cream is so easy to make and with all natural ingredients you’ll never want to go back to store bought. It’s the perfect consistency and with the added essential oils your baby will smell better than ever!
I discovered the wonderful world of coconut oil after my daughter was born. We were using cloth diapers and wanted to make sure I was applying a safe cream. The benefits of coconut oil was something I was constantly hearing and reading about so I decided to give it a try.
Oh my golly, I can’t believe I didn’t buy it earlier!
Once I got into essential oils I began to experiment and with a bit of trial and error I now have a recipe that is perfect for us. I love the whipped consistency because unlike regular coconut oil, this recipe doesn’t harden. As an added bonus it also doubles as a great lotion for the kids!
I feel good about putting this on my kids because I know exactly what’s in it. No secret or harmful ingredients. Only pure, oily goodness!
Benefits of Coconut Oil
There’s a reason why so many people swear by coconut oil. It has multiple benefits making it a top ingredient in many personal products. Because of its antibacterial and antifungal properties, it helps to prevent bacterial infections and ward off yeast!
Not only that, but its very moisturizing. Unlike some lotions and creams, coconut oil heals ALL layers of the skin.
About 50% of coconut oil is made up of a protein called lauric acid or in other words, a fat. It’s not just any fat though but a super awesome one at that! Its acts as a natural immunity builder and what’s pretty neat is that lauric acid is also found in breast milk.
So basically, coconut oil is the coolest thing ever!
Rose Ointment & Essential Oils
Rose Ointment is perfect for replenishing dry and irritated skin, making it a perfect ingredient for my whipped diaper cream. Its made of a blend of several high quality essential oils and smells SO good! Rose essential oil will improve the texture of skin and tea tree works to heal dry and irritated skin.
I’ve chosen Lavender and Gentle Baby essential oils to add to the whipped diaper cream and for great reasons too!
Lavender is one of the more common and popular essential oils. Not only does it promote a sense of calm but also has the power to soothe irritated skin.
Gentle Baby is a blend of sweet smelling essential oils, including lavender but is formulated with several other amazing oils. Its been known to be a good blend to use for skin but also has a wonderful smell.

Hi, I’m one of your sister bloggers:) love this. I have twin grand sons (17mts) that I keep 9 hours a day! Little crazy around here. This cream will come in handy! Thanks again! Angela -FPB
Thanks Angela! My youngest is 17 months. Its a good age but trying at times for sure!
Love the sounds of this recipe! I do make my own diaper cream, isn’t it so much better than store bought? I love your idea of using Rose Salve, I never thought of that! I do add the Gentle Baby oil though, it’s so wonderful for skin and smells amazing! ❤️
Thank you, Hope! It’s way better than store bought!
I’ve been making our diaper cream for our cloth diapered babies for years. But I’ve never done a whipped one! Can’t wait to try this ❤️
I used to do plain coconut oil but now I always whip it. So much easier to get it out that way!
Can you add breast milk to this to make it better?
You probably could! I actually attempted a body butter recipe with some frozen breast milk but it turned out horribly. I think it is because I used old milk though!
