It’s been a slow morning today and sooooo needed

It’s been a slow morning today and sooooo needed. Yesterday afternoon was spent getting a few things done for work, watercolor painting with Wren, an outdoor picnic and a few snapshots.

Today I’ve left yesterday’s mess on the kitchen table while I snuggle on the couch with the baby. Magnolia network is playing on the TV and although I know days won’t always be this peaceful, it’s sure nice when it is 🐝

One of the most relaxing things for me right now is spending time in the garden, alone. No shoes are a necessity of course. Gotta get that serotonin in somehow 😉

I am very much a beginner when it comes to gardening but I’m enjoying the process of learning.

It’s almost humorous how attached I’ve grown to the tomato and pepper plants. One by one I planted the seeds and have been caring for them over the last 2 months like little babies. I worry about them and pray over them. One day this summer I hope that I can enjoy the fruits of my labor! 🍅

Joy can be found in the simplest of ways. I long for the mornings I can wake up to the sounds of waves crashing along the shore. I crave the sand between my toes and the smell of salt in my hair. However, I can have the same amount of joy right here in my backyard 365 days a year if I just slow down and look for it.

My goal for this month (really every month) is to appreciate the little things. The things that are overlooked or seen as an inconvience are sometimes the most beautiful.

I can't seem to find the words to write for this Mother's Day inspired post but hopefully the photos speak for themselves. These kids mean the world to me. It's one thing to feel special on Mother's Day but I feel appreciated every day of the year and I couldn't be more grateful.

Sounds so silly but it’s exactly what my soul needed to bring me out of this photo funk I’ve been in lately. I may have wiped off a bit of dust on the ole camera for this shot 😂

Can we also talk about this child’s hair? 😍 I’ve always thought she had messy straight hair but it’s actually pretty wavy. I’ve just never known before that I shouldn’t brush it. I’ve been scrunching it after her bath with my hands and it’s made all the difference.

It’s not a real banana but he doesn’t know the difference. 😉 Wilder sure feels like a big boy sitting at the high chair with us for meals. Suddenly I no longer have a newborn and I’m not sure how I feel about that. However, I’ve always been one to enjoy each and every stage of development. ❤️
